Industry averages are review-weighted across the WashIndex chain dataset (cancellation friction over chains with 200+ membership-discussing reviews, matching the leaderboard). Lower is better for damage, cancellation friction, and upsell pressure; membership mention rate reflects program engagement. Better/worse calls appear only for chains above the leaderboards’ minimum sample sizes.

Every operating-quality signal on this page is derived from 122 customer reviews of Cool Wave Car Wash locations, processed through WashIndex’s 55-field LLM extraction pipeline. Competitor counts within 1 / 3 / 5 mi rings are computed by haversine distance against the WashIndex location index across the chain’s states and immediately adjacent ones (sister sites in the same chain are excluded). Monthly review and rating trends are pulled from the raw Google Maps review feed. 0 spam-flagged reviews were excluded from the aggregates.
